Governor Yahaya Bello flag-off the distribution of 100 Tractors and Educational Materials to 21 Local Government in the State.

The Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello has commissioned 100 tractors and Educational Materials to be distributed across the 21 Local Government Area of the state in actualization of his campaign promises to revitalize agriculture in the State. The programme was held at the old township stadium Lokoja with traditional rulers, commissioners and other government functionaries in attendance.
In his welcoming address, the honorable commissioner for Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Barrister Salami Ozogi Deedat noted that this gesture of the governor is unprecedented in the history of the state and that it is a major revolution in the agricultural sector that will bring about food sufficiency and security.
" There is no doubt that this distribution of 100 tractors and Educational Materials to the 21 Local Government Area is not only unprecedented in the history of Kogi State but a major revolution in the agricultural sector that has the capability to guarantee food security of the state in particular and contribute to the food sufficiency of the nation in general."
Adding that the ministry will ensure value for money in the usage of the facilities and urge all beneficiary to effective and efficient maintenance culture and accountability.
In his speech, the executive governor of Kogi State, his Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello noted that the flag-off is part of government agenda in the provision of farm implements that will help in the alliviation of farmers suffering in the State thereby providing more food for the state and the nation at large.
The governor noted that the federal government is complementing the state efforts in bringing sorcur to those displayed by flooding through palliative that was received through the ministry of Humanitarian Disaster and Social Development. Adding that the distribution of 100 tractors is to complement the federal government APPEAL programme in the State.
He appreciated the chairman of SUBEB for the provision of the educational materials that will be distributed to the 21 Local Government Area of the state.
Earlier, in his Goodwill message, the chairman of All Farmers Association (AFAN), Alhaji Saliu Adobayi appreciated the governor for bringing relief to farmers in the State and solicit the governor to make it possible for AFAN to have office accommodation across the 21 Local Government Area of the state for smooth running of it's activities.
