FG Lifts Ban on Contact Sports



The Federal Government through it's Presidential Task Force on Covid-19 has lifted the ban on Contact Sports especially football with tregient conditions. This was made public via a media briefing by the Task Force on Thursday 15th of October, 2020.

The lifting of the ban came amidst growing calls by sportmen and women and other sports enthusiast for the ban to be lifted on contact sports.

The Minister for Youth  and Sports Development, Sunday Dare, enjoined all stakeholders to apply full compliance with all Covid -19 protocols before any organization of any sport events.

It will be recalled that the federal government through the presidential task force had earlier announced partial opening of sports, especially the non contact sports.

The lifting of the ban will bring succour to millions of Nigerians who depends on football for their livelihood since March that the ban was announced by the presidential task force on Covid-19.
