Kogi State Governor, His Excellency Alhaji yahaya Adoiza Bello today 23rd March, 2021 swear in Justice Sunday Omeiza Otu as the new substantive Chief Judge of the State at the bounquet hall Kogi State government house Lokoja.
In his remark, the Attorney general of the State Ibrahim Muhammad noted that upon his appointment, Justice Otu was found meritorious and that his appointment is as a result of his role and performance as an acting chief judge of the state.
Muhammad however, appreciates Kogi State House of Assembly for conferming his appointment after a thorough screening adding that Justice Otu is qualified judging from the array of his credentials, describing him as a round peg in a round hole.
He thanked the governor for his respect for constitutionalism and the rule of law and his love for the judiciary in the state.
In his speech, the governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Alhaji yahaya Adoiza Bello ably represented by the deputy governor chief Edward Onoja, noted that the state is presently enjoying a harmonious relationship between the executive, the judiciary and the legislature in the state and congratulates Justice Otu for becoming a substansive chief judge of the state, urging him to discharge his duties with courage and pray that he will serve with the standard his predecessor put in place.
The governor pray for the state to be free from the negative news that have been rocking different states of the federation.
In his vote of thanks, the newly sworn in chief judge of the state, Justice Sunday Omeiza Otu show's deep gratitude to God and thank the governor for his due process and equally appreciated the deputy governor for working hand in hand with the governor to move the judiciary and state forward.
He appreciates members of his family and well wishers who are present for rejoicing with him and solicit for their prayers to enable him discharge his duties efficiently.
